The Education Gap in India

Millions of Dreams,One Common Barrier: Financial Access

In 2025, India’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education stands at only 28.4%, far below that of other countries

This means that out of every 100 Indians in the 18–23 age group, 72 are not enrolled in higher education, this presents a critical challenge. One key solution to bridging this gap is empowering youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education and build sustainable livelihoods.

Behind this number are real stories, real dreams and one recurring challenge: the cost of education.

About AWOO Foundation

Testimonials

Smile Out Bright! As a child, I thought Architecture to be creative and full of freedom; subjects like design, art, you can come up with your own - unique solution. My mother is a homemaker and father's contribution to society comes in the form of a sports teacher at The Aditya Birla Higher Secondary School in Nagda, MP; in fact that’s where he got to know about AWOO Scholarship. When I got the scholarship, I felt as if my work and my academics had some value & my efforts acknowledged!
